Word Families

.....Safa's first Lap book....
As we were working on the above mentioned topic
We decided to make learning more enjoyable by making a lap-book for it.
It was very fun and entertaining for her as a beginner.
So this is the cover .... she wanted all the stickers she could possibly find around the house on it.
This is how it looks when opened
We made a lot of pockets ... 40 of them ... one fell off
and made many many many small word cards to go into the related pockets
like these
the ap words
the am words
the an words
the ad words
the un words
the in words
and  that's how it looks when completed..

She had a really good time making this and working on it.

Introducing ..... Hindi

We decided to introduce the Hindi language to Saif
So as usual as it goes with any language, we began with the alphabets....
We did an alphabet daily. but just writing a page full on a daily basis was getting boring and frustrating.
I couldn't get any worksheets or coloring sheets related to this subject online, so i decided to make my own activity sheets for him.

We have just learnt the first few alphabets , so with every alphabet we did an activity to go with it ...
   से अनार (cotton bud painting)
आ से आम (collage)

  से इमली (thumb printing)

  ई  से  ईख (sketch pens)
उ से उल्लू (painting with salt)
ऊ से ऊन  (stuck pieces of yarn)
Insha Allah the next few alphabets and their activities will be posted soon.

The Five pillars of Islam

We had a basic learning class on the five pillars of Islam
We decided to make it fun and enjoyable by making a related lap-book....
Here are the pictures....

The cover
When opened
These are the 5 pillars of Islam ..... Saif himself cut the strips and stuck it..
The first pillar: I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and Muhammed is his Messenger.
Make a Match game: timings to the names

Salah names and timings
Zakah : To give in charity 2.5% of one's annual savings
Little basic questions.....
Answers are revealed when flaps are lifted.
What is Hajj?
Hajj: To peform Pilgrimage once in one's lifetime.
Alhamdulillah.... As he himself had to work on it ,it was a good and enjoyable fun way to have him remember them

That's it for the five pillars of Islam....
